Alcohol Course Description
Conducting Screening, Confirmation
Test, Shy lung and Refusal to Test.
You will conduct hands on training
in the use of the EBT, performing a
breath alcohol screening test and
doing a confirmation test.
Obstacles to Completing a Test,
Fatal Flaws and Correctable Flaws.
Review of Obstacles to Completing a
test, Fatal and Correctable Flaws,
and when error correction training
is required.
Reviewing the DOT and NON DOT ATF
forms and knowing how to fill in
steps 1, 2, 3 and 4. (Understanding
the “what if”, such as step 2)
employee refusing to sign, ect.

Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT)
49 CFR training and certification. This
training includes the most basic
fundamentals of proficiency on the
equipment being used. It does not
authorize the BAT to do equipment
calibrations or enable them to maintain
the equipment.

The Certified Lifeloc Operator
and Calibration Technician (C-LOCT)
training provides an additional
certificate, which is distinct from and
in addition to the required BAT 49 CFR
training. C-LOCT certification provides
additional capability in operating and
understanding the Lifeloc equipment
being used, covers maintenance
requirements, and is required to certify
the operator in the understanding and
capability to calibrate and cal-check
the equipment.
