Urine Specimen Collector Course Description
This covers the DOT urine collection procedures and the use of the DOT Custody and Control Form (CCF). Students perform five mock collections that meet the training requirements of the DOT regulations. Topics include:

Certification process

What is a BAT/UDS Certificate? A Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) / Substance Abuse Collection Certification certificate is issued by me and attests that you fully understand the Department of Transportations' (DOT) rules and regulations detailed in their published document 49CFR Part 40 as well as instrument operation. This certificate is instrument specific and must be renewed every 5 years with the completion of a (written test) refresher course that can be mailed directly to you.

What is a Operator and Calibration Technician Certificate? Manufactures certificate
The Manufacture issues a certification attesting that you are proficient and certified to inspect, maintain, and perform calibrations/cal checks on Lifeloc equipment. This certificate is important as the DOT requires that, as a user of the EBT, you must follow the manufacturer's QAP (Quality Assurance Plan) and Lifeloc's QAP states that calibration must be performed by a qualified operator. Both the BAT certificate that I will issue and a certificate for the specific EBT you trained on are needed to ensure compliance with the provisions of 49 CFR Part 40.
